Dutch Theme

Boats,windmills,water and beaches at a small scale.The pendants are inspired by old Dutch classic paintings.I paint them,in relief,with colored fat casting slip.Fun to do,and some good practice for the eastern eggs painting later this year.

Tile Work

I have a small dark photostudio in my bathroom,for silkscreen printing.Further a photo emulsion,a lamp,and screens.It is a relative easy and not very expensive way, to make prints on tiles with underglaze.After the printing I added some reliefwork.

Astrologic Signs

Last weeks I was orienting myself on doing astrologic signs.I have in progress some study tiles and pendants.It seems a lot of work to design and to work out the 12 signs.Colours and symbols have to be right for every sign.

Some first test results;the small tile is in the greenware stage,the pendants are painted with a reliefpaste and are waiting for another firing.

'Plastic Surgery'

Starting the new year with a new head;

After firing I wasn't happy with the rooster's head.So I carved another clayhead.'The spare part head' would stick to the glaze of the piece after firing again,so I don't have to throw away the piece.The cat also obtain another head already in the greenware stage.

Christmas Tree Pendants

Sometimes it is hard to try and find Christmas gifts for some people.Lucky me, my family is not too picky,so I can give tree pendants this year.

The two above pictures are in progress,I carve my small greenware pieces with a needle in a 'gel' of glaze glue.With the glue it is also possible to 'etch' area's of liquid casting clay.I ám happy with the etching results.

Ceramic Puzzles
