After I glazed the clown,I added some particles and fired the piece again,so they are glued to the piece. The particles are made by sliptrailing clay on a piece of plaster.A Happy and creative New Year!

White Christmas
It is very unusual to get a white christmas in Holland, but this year every thing in front of my home is white.
I ám working at tiles with a lot of particles(see the clown picture).First I make the particles on a piece of plaster(painting with clayslip or with the slipapplicator) and then I transport the particles to an already fired tile. With some glaze the particle is glued to the tile and fired again.
A white and merry Christmas!

A Christmas Carol
My nickname my wife gave me is Scrooge.I suppose she did that because I ám not very generous.I plan to give her this year a selfmade tile called 'December City'(with a shopping centre in Christmas ambiance pictured).Hope she likes the textures.

A Saving Energy Tip
The world leaders are parking their limos and planes for the climate top in Copenhagen. I felt myself also a bit guilty about the fact I had to fire my climate piece(the melting of Antartica) three times which costed also energy.Otherwise with a mural, parts can be fired a few times more for extra colors, effects, etc.and other parts not;this saves energy.

The Happy Family
Having children, a dog and a car is often the stereotype of the happy family. I want to work this out in a ceramic collage. Here a study;the idea is to combine larger greenware tile work ,with small glazed or biscuit ware.
Of course there would occur the technical problem about the different shrinking. It is a challenge to find a solution.

Wet in Wet
I try to combine sculpting and painting techniques.A sculpting technique which I like to investigate further for the next year is sculpting in a wet surface (in a gel for example). Here an experiment;the upper image is a (hi-res)detail of the under image.

Fractal/Crystal Art
The Netherlands is a land full of windmills. So they are often an inspiration for tiles and paintings. Now I try to look at it from the corner of fractal art. Here a piece in progress.

An interesting Tile Experiment
I poured some casting clay in a mold, and in the wet clay I lay the leatherhard image of a boat(and a smoke trail). On the wet clay surrounding the boat I put some ceramic glaze glue. Then I added with the slipapplicator liquid clay to the surface; And very strange textures appeared which looks a bit like crystals.
Ok I have to work this further out but I ám really amazed by the result.
