I was a little suffering from psychological depression lately, and when looking in the mirrow I saw even a first grey hair!I don't like pills and the best way to halt
grey hair(and keep haircoloring away) is to tell myself everyday a joke. Here two versions of a clown;"the friends will be friends'' clown is ready and the ''My first grey hair''clown stills need a firing.Rob
Comercial tiles from the do it yourself store, which I cut into smaller tiles, are a good source for small ceramic (slip)paintings. After the cutting, a drawing with pen and inkt and slip painting follows. The frame and cloisonné of the tile, is done with the slipapplicator.Rob
After firing I wasn't happy with the rooster's head.So I carved another clayhead.'The spare part head' would stick to the glaze of the piece after firing again,so I don't have to throw away the piece. The cat also obtain another head already in the greenware stage.
Sometimes it is hard to try and find Christmas gifts for some people.Lucky me, my family is not too picky,so I can give tree pendants this year.
The two above pictures are in progress,I carve my small greenware pieces with a needle in a 'gel' of glaze glue. With the glue it is also possible to 'etch' area's of liquid casting clay.I ám happy with the etching results.
I wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, or a Happy whatever you are celebrating at this time of year... Rob
My nickname my wife gave me is Scrooge.I suppose she did that because I ám not very generous.I plan to give her this year a selfmade tile called 'December City'(with a shopping centre in Christmas ambiance pictured).Hope she likes the textures. Rob
Pen and ceramic inkt are my favorites when drawing lines.Sometimes lines and contrast can really change a piece.A few pictures to make this clear. Also a closeup of the texture.
I ám a kind of creative inventor that is the reason why I love pottery, the raw materials and glazes are a rich source for experimentation.I also have a website and like it, when you take a look at http://www.reliefs.nl
